This week, Blizzard is throwing an Overwatch 2 reveal event. "This is only the beginning of what we have in store for the game," says Blizzard.

The sequel to hero shooter Overwatch, which was released in 2019, has been a long time coming. But, with the game launching into early access on October 4, the wait is nearly over. To give you a better picture of how Overwatch 2 is shaping out, Blizzard is preparing a reveal event in just a few days.

The Overwatch 2 reveal event will take place on Thursday, June 16 at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET/6 p.m. BST. The broadcast will be available on the PlayOverwatch YouTube(opens in new tab) and Twitch(opens in new tab) channels.

Various balancing fixes and new abilities, including as Zenyatta's Snap Kick passive, were deployed during the first Overwatch 2 beta, which took place in April. "We have merely touched the surface. This is only the beginning of what we have in store for the game "reads a blog post on the Blizzard website (opens in new tab).

During yesterday's Xbox and Bethesda conference, we received a new peek at the game with a teaser showing a new hero, the Junker Queen. The film also indicated that the game's PVP component would be available for free. During Thursday's livestream, expect to see plenty more details about the shooter's newest tank-class character, as well as Blizzard's plans for Overwatch 2's seasonal content and more information on the upcoming beta.
