Mugshot of Tiger Woods

Mugshot of Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods' Mugshot is a police booking image of American professional golfer Tiger Woods after his arrest on suspicion of DUI, which went viral online in late May 2017.

Origin

Police discovered Woods sleeping behind the wheel of his 2015 black Mercedes-Benz on the side of the road in Jupiter, Florida on May 29, 2017. Woods was detained on suspicion of DUI after failing numerous sobriety tests.

Spread TAlso on May 29th, Instagram user insta comedy uploaded the mugshot as a response picture to someone continually asking questions while watching a movie, earning over 115,000 likes in the following day (shown below, left). Meanwhile, the mugshot was shared to the shitheadsteve Instagram account with the description "When you've been day drinking for 3 days and suddenly realise you have to go back to work tomorrow" (shown below, right).

Woods' Declaration

That evening, Woods issued a statement stating he had a "unexpected response to drugs" after a recent back surgery.

Tiger Woods' reaction when he spotted a fan wearing his photograph on a shirt

Tiger Woods and Kevin Na entertained the crowd on the island green at The Players Championship on Saturday, but he was stunned by a fan's handmade Tiger apparel as he walked to the next tee.

Spectator Thomas Wesling arrived to TPC Sawgrass on Saturday wearing a t-shirt with a picture of Woods' mugshot from his 2017 arrest on suspicion of DUI. Woods claimed that the event was caused by a combination of prescription medicines he was taking while healing from back problems.

While Tiger did not slow down or turn his head as he passed Wesling, he did grin.

Other professional golfers, according to Wesling, thought his shirt was humorous.

"I didn't expect it, but it received a response from practically every single person we passed during the competition," Wesling said.

Many of the golfers that went through Wesling over the day laughed as well, including Jon Rahm and Jason Dufner. According to one of the tournament staffers, Dufner had his caddy notify Woods' caddie that the shirt would be on the 18th tee.

"I didn't expect to be recognised by the players," Wesling said. "With so many people hollering at Tiger, it's difficult to get him to notice anybody."
